Effective Treatments
TMJ
Is a painful condition that is caused by the clenching of the jaw muscles. Muscles controlling the jaw remain engaged when they should be relaxed. Dr. Ann effectively treats TMJ with a combination of Trigger Point Injections and Botox injections. These treatments enable the muscles to relax, and can effectively re-set the muscles to function as they should, thereby permanently alleviating the pain.
Grinding of Teeth
Often occurs subconsciously during the day, and more often when asleep at night. Teeth grinding causes physical damage to your teeth and can be easily corrected with our effective techniques for treatment. Similar to TMJ, grinding of teeth is caused by muscles in the jaw that produce clenching. We use Trigger Point Injections and Botox Injections. We have a high success rate at alleviating the condition of grinding your teeth, which preserves your teeth structure, alignment, and overall health.
Botox Injections
Enable the muscles in the jaw to relax and alleviate pain associated with TMJ and Grinding of Teeth. Botox injections are often used in combination with Trigger Point Injections, which indicate if the issue is muscular in nature.
Trigger Point Injections
Have the specific purpose to determine if the cause of pain is muscular in its nature. An injection of 1% plain Lidocaine is injected into the local muscle, which numbs that area. If the injection provides relief of pain, it is an indicator that the cause of pain is muscular in origin.
Gum Pain, Bleeding Gums, and Gum Disease
These conditions occur when decay, a buildup of tartar, bacteria, and scale form below the gum line. Issues with gums need to be addressed to preserve teeth. We perform a procedure call SRP or Scaling Root Planing. This is a deep cleaning where we peel back the gums and perform a serious cleaning on the lower portions of the teeth. After receiving this treatment, it sets the stage to reinstate oral health. If you have problems with your gums, you should address the issue early so we can treat it to avoid infection and reinstate oral health.
Bad Breath and Gingivitis
Are signs that you need a Deep Periodontal Cleaning that cleans below the gum line. Gingivitis is inflammation of the gums, and if not treated can cause infection. We perform a procedure call SRP or Scaling Root Planing. This is a deep cleaning where we peel back the gums and perform a serious cleaning on the lower portions of the teeth. After receiving this treatment, it sets the stage to reinstate oral health.
