A full mouth restoration may combine several treatments. A full mouth restoration enhances both the front teeth, and your back teeth, both top and bottom.
If you have fillings that are made with amalgam, they are generally silver or dark gray in color. When your mouth is open wide, you can clearly see the fillings. Some patients choose to have the old dark colored fillings removed, and replaced with a modern composite filling that is white in color to match your teeth.
If there are broken teeth, or badly decayed teeth, we may recommend the procedure to get a dental crown. As long as the root portion of the tooth is healthy, a dental crown can be bonded to the lower tooth to create a new durable artifical tooth that fits perfectly with your bite.
In the event a tooth is completely absent, we may recommend a dental implant. A dental implant is a permanent fix for a missing tooth. The procedure can be done as long as the gums and the bone that support your teeth are healthy.
When receiving a dental implant, first a small titanium post is inserted into the bone. After a period of time, the bone grows to fully fuse to the post creating a strong foundation for an artificial tooth that is then mounted on the post. A dental implant is a durable, permanent solution for a missing tooth.
