General Dentistry can be divided into two categories: Preventative Dentistry, and Tooth Repairs.

Preventative Dentistry

includes regularly scheduled checkups, cleaning, and periodic x-rays. We also do “Deep Cleanings” below the gum line if it’s been a while since your last cleaning.

Tooth Repairs

address tooth decay or tooth pain. Most common repairs are simple tooth fillings to correct decay, repairing a broken or chipped tooth, addressing gum irritation, and also include emergency visits due to injuries or acute tooth pain.

Preventative Dentistry

Preventative Dentistry is the bedrock of a healthy smile. A regularly scheduled check up and cleaning every six months will keep you on track for excellent oral health.

Preventative Dentistry also includes periodic x-rays to ensure unseen issues can be detected early and corrected easily.

We Treat the Entire Family…

It is common for us to treat Mom, Dad, and all of the kids in a family. It is because our patients trust us to provide the highest level of personalized care, and to address the needs and concerns of each individual.

We are a Kid Friendly Dentist and recommend starting kids early with dental checkups to maintain healthy teeth and to teach the importance of proper oral hygiene.

Teach kids that going to the dentist is a positive experience that feels great when your teeth are clean and polished. Also, there is peace of mind knowing that your check up is clean and addressed any potential issues early while they are minor.

We recommend a dental cleaning and checkup every six months.

Deep Cleaning For Your Teeth

In the event you went a long time since your last cleaning, we may recommend a “Deep Periodontal Cleaning”. This treatment cleans below the gum line, and is especially necessary if your are experiencing swollen gums, bleeding gums, or bad breath.

SRP is an intensive treatment for deep cleaning. Scaling Root Planing is a procedure where heavy scale is removed from below the gum line. This treatment creates a smooth, clean, healthy surface below the gums to reinvigorate oral health.

Tooth Repairs

Repairs to teeth are necessary from time to time to maintain excellent oral health. We strive to make you comfortable, relaxed, and free of pain during the procedures. We utilize advanced techniques and the latest dental technology to ensure top-quality durable repairs to your teeth.

Dental Implants

A Dental Implant is used when an existing tooth is missing or a tooth cannot be saved. In this procedure, a small titanium post is inserted into the jawbone, upon which the new artificial tooth will be mounted.

Upon fixing the post into the jawbone, a temporary tooth will then be placed over the post while the bone heals. After a period of time, the bone permanently fuses together with the post. At this time, the temporary tooth is removed, and a permanent artificial tooth is mounted to the post.

The Dental Implant procedure produces a long lasting, durable, and permanent tooth that functions like a normal healthy tooth.

Dr. Ann’s specialists have vast experience at many advanced dental procedures, and have performed countless successful Dental Implants. She uses the utmost care to maintain patient comfort and to keep the procedure pain free throughout the process.

Regular Check-ups + Daily Brushing and Floss = Easy Trip to the Dentist

Studies show that people that choose to stay on schedule with a regular teeth cleaning and check up every six months enjoy far greater oral health.

Why? Because by choosing to visit the dentist regularly, you are actively engaged in your own self-care. When your personal oral health is top of mind, you are more likely to brush your teeth and floss more frequently. And you can take pride in your healthy smile.

How Often Should You Brush Your Teeth?

It makes sense to brush your teeth a minimum of every morning after breakfast, and every night before bedtime. However, if you indulge in mid-day sweets, extra cups of coffee, or enjoy soft drinks, brush additional times throughout the day so that sugar doesn’t adhere to your teeth and create conditions for bacteria growth.

Choose a toothbrush that has soft bristles, because a hard bristle brush can irritate your gums. Plan to replace your toothbrush every 2-3 months for best results.

Why Is Flossing Important?

Flossing is essential to maintaining good oral health. Why? Because dental floss removes food that’s stuck between your teeth, and cleans away debris from the gum line.

If you suffer from bad breath, flossing may very well be the answer. It is no secret that when we floss, often the stuck food that comes out smells foul. That is good reason alone to floss everyday, and decaying food between your teeth also irritates your gums.

If you find traditional string floss a hassle to use, try the plastic flossers that you can buy in a drugstore or department store. They double as a sturdy toothpick that you can push through the openings between your teeth.

Plastic flossers make flossing quick and easy, you can carry them in your car, purse, or pack, and you can use them directly after eating. Discovering these flossers can be a game-changer for keeping your mouth clean.

A good at home teeth cleaning routine is to brush, floss, and then brush again. Follow that up with a quality mouthwash recommended by the dentist, and you’ll have a clean mouth, and a dazzling smile.
